The golden Dome of the Rock, the oldest building in Islam.

It was built in the late 7th century and covered in gold 15 years ago by King Hussein. It is built over Mount Moriah, the traditional place where Abraham was ready to sacrifice his son Isaac until God intervened. (The Muslims say it was his son Ishmael) The mosque is covered in verses from the Koran in marble and precious blue stone. On the top is not a crescent but a full circle to indicate the Ottomans fully conquered the world. As Christians, we are allowed to tour the site but not go inside the mosque and only from 8am - 10am.
