As we continued along the Via Dolorosa, we came upon a celebration by a group of Orthodox Jews that completely blocked the road at the Third Station of the Cross (Christ stumbles and Simon takes the cross) We spent the next 30 minutes in a coffee shop watching the group sing and dance to celebrate the last day of Succoth (Feast of Tabernacles when they build 'booths' with palm branches on the flat roofs of their homes and sleep outside overnight). They carried elaborate Torah scrolls as they danced in the streets!
