The main reason for going to Toronto was to see the musical "Billy Elliot". It's about a 12 year old boy in a northern England mining town who would rather dance than learn to box. His father does not agree but his Dad is imbroiled in the labour dispute with the coal mining company and the union goes on strike. Conflict comes because of both of these elements but passion and talent for dance win over his father and the townspeoples' hearts. It was wonderful - great music and superb dancing but a bit loud for our small town ears. A great evening!
