After a climb of 1350', we arrrive at the basin of Siphon Draw. This rock has been worn smooth by eons of periodic water flow from higher peaks. It's tricky to walk up it and even more difficult to go back down. At the top, one can negotiate the rock wall and then continue on up the draw to the top of the Flatiron - the flat topped mountain in the distance - another hour of hiking, 500 feet more elevation, and lots of big rocks to climb over. We will leave that for another day. We rested here and had a granola bar. Then began our descent.
