Because we took the Confederation Bridge when we arrived on PEI four days ago, we took the one and a quarter hour ferry to New Brunswick. In Pictou, we spent an hour in the Grohman knife factory. They hand make very high quality knives here and we had a factory tour. When the company started, they got 2 walrus pelts from the Canadian government to use for polishing the handles and honing the blades. They still have most of the second pelt left - each one inch strip from the pelt takes about 10 years to use up.
After leaving Pictou, we drove across the Canso Causeway and its revolving bridge, onto Cape Breton Island. We stayed in Baddeck and went to a lobster supper - Mmmm! But John's Mary got news that afternoon that her Dad was taken to hospital in congestive heart failure. Because he is 93 years old, this is a real worry. As we ordered our dinner, the rain stopped and God showed us his wonderful comforting care with a spectacular double rainbow from one edge of the sky to the other!
