Saguarro Lake is a long narrow lake between cliffs of rock. It and Canyon and Apache Lakes were created with dams on the Salt River to regulate the flow and stop the periodic flooding after summer rain storms. It is a wonderful resource for the people of Phoenix, especially in the torrid summers, as a place to swim, boat, fish, etc. Our boat will go between those cliffs ahead and around several bends. We saw lots of mallard ducks, coots, cormorants, egrets and even an eagle. But the mountain goats seemed to be on the other side of the hill today.
