Just outside the Lazurus tomb was a shop with souvenirs. We were not sure what the hemp woven device was, so we were given a demonstration. Mark is tall so he became Goliath and the shopkeeper was David with the sling and a stone. After giving it a good whirl and fling, Mark fell to the ground and pretended to have been mortally wounded but our applause quickly revived him in time for all of us to buy our own souvenir sling to take home and demonstrate to our grandchildren.
