Jack and Mary Jagt are retired from the work of trading in natural rubber (Jack) and Intensive Care Nursing (Mary). They love to travel in their RV - nicknamed the Merrie Yacht. Recently moved from the home they raised their family in to a condo in a smaller town, they now have fewer home responsibilities and hope to be on the road more often.

For the twelfth year, the children of two sisters - Naantke and Trie (Haan) whose families immigrated to Canada together in 1950 - got together again for the Jagt/ Luth family reunion over the Civic holiday weekend in early August. Lakewood Christian Campground was once again the venue for camping and socializing and eating! It was hot and humid - but that happens each year and many of us have comfortable air conditioning in our RVs and a large tarp provided outdoor shade. The children always have a wonderful time biking, playing and swimming in the campground pool as well as a hiking a short distance to the sandy beach on Lake Huron. On Saturday, we had a hamburger and sausage BBQ with great salads by the Jagts and wonderful desserts by the Luths. Several Luths came for the BBQ and John and Mary, Brian, Sheila, Tyler and Ashley came on Saturday and stayed in a hotel in Sarnia so they could enjoy the weekend with family. Each evening, we had a campfire and the stars are so much brighter in the darker skies of the country.
