Jack and Mary Jagt are retired from the work of trading in natural rubber (Jack) and Intensive Care Nursing (Mary). They love to travel in their RV - nicknamed the Merrie Yacht. Recently moved from the home they raised their family in to a condo in a smaller town, they now have fewer home responsibilities and hope to be on the road more often.

Today's hike began at the rather sandy shore of Saguaro Lake. This lake is a result of a series of dams along the Salt River to control the water flow for the city of Phoenix. It is a wonderful asset because of the boating, fishing, swimming and hiking along it's waters. We are a group of 18 today and it is a cloudy day. The temperature is a lovely 70F but the weather is changing and rain is coming tomorrow. We hike along the shoreline including a cove full of mallard ducks and American coots. Then we go overland - up and over gullies - til we arrive at Burro Cove where we have a rest and then return again to our starting point - a 5 mile hike.
