Jack and Mary Jagt are retired from the work of trading in natural rubber (Jack) and Intensive Care Nursing (Mary). They love to travel in their RV - nicknamed the Merrie Yacht. Recently moved from the home they raised their family in to a condo in a smaller town, they now have fewer home responsibilities and hope to be on the road more often.

Desert Botanical Gardens
Perfect sunny blue skies and warm sunshine have returned so we spent a day at the Desert Botanical Gardens in Phoenix. Last year, there was an exhibit of blown glass sculptures by Dale Chihuly and they have retained one on them at the entrance to the gardens. But this year there are sculptures by Alan Houser scattered among the cacti and desert flowers and wildflowers. These sculptures have a southwestern theme with native peoples and other typically western icons. The wildflowers are blooming in abundance and the hummingbirds and bees are having a great time from one sweet flower to the next. We went with Dan and Barb Bloem and Dia TerHaar and spent an enjoyable day taking pictures of desert flora - definately NOT a dry and barren place!
